Have an item to sell, donate, or just need it picked up without sitting on the curb for three weeks?  Here are some places that can help:


Large item donation pickup:

Salvation Army - donate large and small items, clothing, and vehicles. Schedule a pick up here. 


Catholic Charities of Memphis - vehicle donation with free towing. Click here for info. 



Donation drop off:

Goodwill drop off - 700 Mount Moriah Road

You can request a bulk pick-up of qualifying item from 311 (info here). 


Or you can take tires and other items to the Collins Street Convenience Center (304 Collins Street) hours 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on F/S/Su.

Spay/Neutor:

If you live in the City of Memphis, the law requires you to have your dog or cat spayed or neutered once they are over 6 months of age. There are few exemptions, and they are listed here.


  • Spay Memphis offers lost-cost, high-quality spay/neuter services. See current pricing here, and be sure to check to see if you qualify for additional discounts on their Grant/Donor Funding page.
  • The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County offers a $55 Spay/Neuter Voucher with a choice of several different vet clinics.
  • The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County offers low-cost spay/neuter services for pet parents who receive government assistance.
